Maryland Way Park (My new treadmill)

As I start training in earnest for my June 12th 10 hour endurance run, I thought I should at least find a place to run some laps to get an idea of what I will be up against. So as I looked and looked I finally found the place and the whole time it was a place I have been running by for the past 2 years. Nestled in the heart of Brentwood is a 7 acre park full of trees and soon to be green grass. It boost a .33 mile outer loop and 11 workout stations and parking close by. I mapped out the course and found it to be just what I was looking for. While it's not .50 it is close enough and my thinking is "if I can run laps on a .33 mile loop .50 should be a piece of cake right?" we''ll that's what I'm telling my self! while I have been running 3/4 miles at a time around the outer loop of the park in recent weeks I had never really set out to do a full workout. That leads me to this week I did a 56 min. workout totaling about 7 miles on Monday and today I went out to get in 25 laps or (8.25 miles) I wanted to get after it a little so that I could set a bar to shot for in the coming months of training. I ended up avg. 7:38 per mile with my fastest mile being around 7:08 fastest lap of 2:13 . So now that I have a baseline for what is faster than my planned race pace I can adjust my workouts accordingly and hopefully be prepared the best I can. Big trail run tomorrow should really good for the legs! We'll see how I feel come Sunday. Keep moving forward and get out there!!!
